As a Montanan who lived and worked in the Middle East for over 30 years, I realize the immense value of democracy. We Montanans, right now, have a golden opportunity to send a genuinely decent and energetic person to the U.S. House of Representatives.

No matter how you vote, by mail-in ballot or at your polling place, May 2017 is the time to get your vote tallied for Rob Quist. There is too much at stake to sit this one out and hope for the best. Quist is a Montanan from birth with a record of community action: Montana Dept. of Commerce Cultural ambassador, Montana Arts Council member, Office of Public Instruction – helping to development school programs, Native American Oral Tradition participant-Indian Education for All, Member of Montana Food Bank Network. He is problem solver, a successful small businessman, and an award-winning songwriter.

He knows the value of hard work, the importance of family, the joy of access to streams and public lands. Montana has a rich history of powerful, respected and independent legislators: Mike Mansfield, Lee Metcalf, Jeannette Rankin, Burton K Wheeler and Max Baucus, to name a few. It is time we add a fresh earnest voice to Congress.
